"It's clear that the clock is ticking and multiple considerations involved, not just the physical problem, but additional elements," he commented.
"It's positive. [We are] really confident that he will feature a significant role. With luck from the opening match. Otherwise, then we'll pick it up."

He emphasized he would be bold in recovery efforts in his comeback strategy to secure his spot for the series.
The selector indicated that it was unclear if the captain had resumed bowling as part of his recovery but conceded it was "becoming urgent" for him to be fit for the first Test.
Alternative Arrangements
If he's unavailable, veteran batsman Smith will lead the side.
The talented all-rounder was recently pulled out from Australia's squad for their limited-overs matches against the Asian giants as a safety move because of an abdominal issue.
Bailey described it as a "slight concern and mentioned that Green will play in the state-level matches, so will be "ideally positioned to resume bowling."
"We put so much time has gone into creating the schedule for him to participate for the first Test as an batting and bowling option," he elaborated.
"His involvement was limited to the initial matches regardless. His aggressive style the cricket bat in white-ball cricket, if it causes any delay for another day, we just made the decision to adopt a safer strategy."
